  • Description
  • The Alveopora Coral is a very elegant and beautiful LPS (Large Polyp Stony) coral. Alveopora Coral are mostly tan or green in color and resemble a flower in appearance, hence the nickname. Alveopora Coral tend to grown in a branching manner as well.

Alveopora Coral resemble Goniopora coral, but are much easier to care for and make a great substitute. The Alveopora Coral should be placed in the bottom to middle of your tanks and prefers low to moderate water flow and moderate lighting. After you have placed your Alveopora Coral in its desired location, wait to see how it responds. If you see full extension in a day or two it should be fine. If you do not, simply move the coral slightly until you see better extension.

Alveopora Corals are semi-aggressive and shouldn't be placed too close to a neighboring coral. Alveopora Corals have the ability to extend very far past their base and have the ability to sting neighboring corals. This should be taken into a account when placing a Alveopora Coral.

Alveopora Corals will do much better when trace elements are added back to the tank. This can be done with water changes or dosing. Alveopora Coral will also benefit from having meaty foods added to the tank. Foods like mysis and baby brine shrimp along with plankton will keep your Alveopora Coral healthy and happy.
