  • Description
  • The Grape Plant is an extremely useful and very fast growing macroalgae. Grape Plants are green marine plants that have long stems with green grape shaped growths all along it.

Grape Plants are mostly kept in refugiums that are kept separate from the display tank. If Grape Plants get into your display tank, they can overrun the tank and are hard to remove completely from the tank. Grape Plants are popular to keep in the refugium since it is easy to keep control off and trim as it gets too large.

Grape Plants are a very good tool in lowering the nitrates in your aquarium. Grape Plants use nutrients in your tanks water to grow, as they grow large they can be trimmed and when the excess is removed, the nitrates in your tank will be lowered. Grape Plants have the possibility to go asexual and fowl the water in your tank. The first signs of your Grape Plant going asexual is if the plant starts turning white. If you keep your Grape Plant in the proper conditions, the plant should not go asexual.

Grape Plants get most of their nutrition through photosynthesis and the water column of your tank. It should not need any supplemental feedings to grow and thrive.
