  • Description
  • The Birdsnest Coral is a stunning and very elegant SPS (Small Polyped Stony) coral. Birdsnest Coral grow in a branching manner with very thin and delicate arms. Birdsnest Corals are typles found in brown, pink and green hues. Please make sure you that select the color you desire when adding a Birdsnest Coral to your cart.

Birdsnest Corals should be placed from the middle to the top of your aquarium. Birdsnest Coral require high lighting and moderate to high flow rates. Birdsnest Corals will benefit the most from being under strong LED or metal halide lights, but you need to acclimate the coral to strong lighting over a long period of time. Birdsnest Corals will also do best when put in an area of the tank that gets strong random flow. After you have placed your Birdsnest Coral, watch for any signs stress. If you notice that your Birdsnest Coral is stressed, simply move it a few inches until you see better polyp extension.

Birdsnest Corals are peaceful corals and can be placed close to other peaceful coral. Some aggressive species of coral can sting your Birdsnest Coral and force it to retract and possibly die, so please take that into account when placing your Birdsnest Coral. Birdsnest Corals will thrive if trace elements are added back into the tank through either dosing or water changes.

Birdsnest Corals get most of their nutritional needs through photosynthesis, but if you would like to supplement their diet simply feed them small meaty foods like plankton or baby brine shrimp in the evening hours.
