The Pinnatus Batfish is a truly interesting and unique fish. Pinnatus Batfish start life as stunning nearly all black fish with a bright orange outline to its entire body. As Pinnatus Batfish age, they lose their stunning colors and become more of a silver fish with black markings.

Pinnatus Batfish reach a maximum adult size of around 18 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 240 gallons. Pinnatus Batfish are peaceful fish and shouldn't bother other fish in your tank. Pinnatus Batfish will eat inverts and coral, which makes them a horrible addition to reef tanks.

If you have a large fish only tank, the Pinnatus Batfish can make a stunning addition to your tank while a juvenile. Older Pinnatus Batfish will become peaceful and relatively active members of your tank. Pinnatus Batfish can become extremely tall fish, so it is important that you house them in taller tanks.

Pinnatus Batfish are omnivores and require a diet that is reach in both meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp as well as high quality frozen foods will keep your Pinnatus Batfish healthy and happy as a juvenile. As your Pinnatus Batfish ages, it will require larger foods like small chunks of fresh seafood. Adding some algae based foods into their diet is also recommended.

If you have any questions about the Pinnatus Batfish and if it's the right fish for your tank, please feel free to contact us at any time.
