The Forktail Blenny in an interesting and colorful reef fish. Forktail Blennies have a long slender blue body which fades into yellow towards the rear of the fish. The Forktail Blenny gets its name from the way its tail resembles a fork.

Forktail Blennies can reach a maximum adult size of around 4 inches and should be housed in an aquarium of at least 29 gallons. The Forktail Blenny is most a peaceful fish, but can get in disputes with other fish for territory. Having a lot of live rock for the Forktail Blenny to hide in if spooked, will also help them thrive.

Forktail Blennies are considered reef safe and will not bother coral or inverts found in reefs. Care must be taken when being in the tank around a Forktail Blenny or handling one. The Forktail Blenny is venomous and can inflict a very painful bite.

The Forktail Blenny is an omnivore and requires a diet rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, along with high quality flake and pellet foods are essential to help your Forktail Blenny grown and thrive.

Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions about if the Forktail Blenny is the right fish for your aquarium.
