The Tail Spot Blenny in a unique and very interesting blenny. Tail Spot Blennies have a long and slender body that is mostly deep orange with a black tail spot and orange and yellow lines behind their eyes.

Tail Spot Blennies reach a maximum adult size of around 2 inches and can be kept in tanks as small as 10 gallons. Tail Spot Blennies are very peaceful fish and will not bother other fish, coral or inverts found in reef tanks. Tail Spot Blennies should not be kept with more aggressive larger fish, since they are not good at defending themselves. Tail Spot Blennies need lots of live rock to hide in if they feel threatened as well.

Tail Spot Blennies can also jump out of the tank if they are bothered or spooked. For this reason, it is a good idea to have a tight fitting lid on your tank with no holes big enough for your Tail Spot Blenny to jump through.

Tail Spot Blennies are herbivores and need to have a diet that is rich in green foods. Foods such as nori, marine algae and high quality flake foods will help your Tail Spot Blenny stay healthy and flourish.

Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions about the Tail Spot Blenny and if it’s the right fish for your system.
