The Tinkeri Butterfly is a stunning and very rare butterflyfish from Hawaii. Tinkeri Butterfly have a mostly white body with black spots and a yellow stripe over its eyes. Tinkeri Butterfly also have their back covered in black with a yellow tail.

Tinkeri Butterfly reach a maximum size of around 6 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons. Tinkeri Butterfly are peaceful fish and shouldn’t bother other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. Tinkeri Butterfly might pick at some coral like SPS and fleshy corals. For this reason if you want to add a Tinkeri Butterfly to your reef tank, please proceed with caution, since it’s really up to the individual fish if your Tinkeri Butterfly will be reef safe or not.

Tinkeri Butterfly are hard to find this they are deep water butterflyfish. Tinkeri Butterflies need a lot of live rock to hide under and shield themselves from intense lighting found in our tanks. Also the rock will provide hiding places if the Tinkeri Butterfly feels threatened.

Tinkeri Butterflyfish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, spirulina, high quality flake and pellet foods and high quality frozen foods will help keep your Tinkeri Butterfly healthy and happy.
