  • Description
  • The Vagabond Butterflyfish is a very interesting and beautiful butterflyfish. Vagabond Butterflyfish have a mostly white body with strong vertical black stripes over their eyes and in front of their tails. Vagabond Butterflies also have yellow fins and a crosshatch pattern on their bodies.

Vagabond Butterflyfish reach a maximum adult size of around 9 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons in size. Vagabond Butterflyfish are semi-aggressive fish, but shouldn't bother many other fish in your tank. Vagabond Butterflies will pick at some inverts and many types of coral, so they are a bad choice for reef tanks.

Vagabond Butterflyfish can be kept together in larger tanks, but might be aggressive to other butterfly fish in smaller tanks. Vagabond Butterflyfish will had a great dash of color and activity to most medium to large fish only tanks. Vagabond Butterflyfish can be kept with all fish accept the largest and most aggressive species. Vagabond Butterflies will thrive in tanks with lots of live rock for them to hide in and also pick at small inverts and anemones off of between feedings.

Vagabond Butterflyfish are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods, small pieces of fresh seafood and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Vagabond Butterflyfish healthy and happy.
