  • The Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish is an interesting and very colorful butterflyfish. Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish have a mostly yellow body with a black and white head. Their distinguishing feature is their very long and skinny mouths, which resemble forceps.

    Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish reach a maximum size of around 9 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons in size. Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish are peaceful fish and shouldn’t bother other fish in your tank. Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish go best when kept in fish only system with other peaceful to semi-aggressive fish. Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish can be added to reef tanks, but they have the possibility of bothering some inverts and coral. It’s really up to the luck of the draw with the personality of the individual fish and if it will be reef safe or not, so please proceed with caution.

    Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and small pieces of fresh seafood like crab and shrimp will help your Yellow Longnose Butterflyfish grown and thrive.
