The Lemon Damsel is a very bright and colorful damselfish. Lemon Damsels have an almost fully yellow body, and as juveniles are more of a pale yellowish white.

Lemon Damselfish reach a maximum adult size of around 5 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 40 gallons in size. Lemon Damsels are semi-aggressive fish that shouldn't bother too many other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes the Lemon Damsel a good addition to most reef tanks. Lemon Damsels are also fairly hardy fish and should be a good fish for beginner aquarists.

Lemon Damsels can be aggressive towards other damsels, chromis and clownfish in smaller tanks. To help reduce aggression, try to only add Lemon Damsels to larger tanks if any of the other fish listed are present in the tank. Lemon Damsels can be kept in small groups if introduced at the same time in larger tanks, and will add a very nice dash of color of movement to your tank.

Lemon Damselfish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both green and meaty foods. Foods likes mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Lemon Damsel healthy and happy.

If you have any questions about the Lemon Damsel and if it's the right fish for your tank, please feel free to contact us at any time.
