The Three Stripe Damselfish is a very unique and interesting to look at damsel. Three Stripe Damselfish have a mostly white body with three strong vertical black stripes, hence its name.

Three Stripe Damselfish reach a maximum adult size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 30 gallons. Three Stripe Damselfish are aggressive fish, but shouldn't bother most other fish, corals or inverts. This makes the Three Stripe Damselfish a good addition to reef tanks.

When introduced early to an aquarium, Three Stripe Damsels will stake their territory and defend it fiercely. For this reason it is advised to add a Three Stripe Damselfish late in your stocking list. If you have a larger tank, you should be fine adding a Three Stripe Damselfish at any point. Three Stripe Damselfish are very hardy fish and are a good choice for beginner aquarists.

Three Stripe Damselfish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality flake and pellet foods and high quality frozen food will keep your Three Stripe Damselfish healthy and happy.
