The Vanderbilt Chromis is a very colorful and active schooling fish. Vanderbilt Chromis have a mostly yellow body with strong horizontal blue markings and stripes.

Vanderbilt Chromis reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons in size. Vanderbilt Chromis are mostly peaceful fish and will not bother other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes them a great choice for reef tanks. Vanderbilt Chromis are hardy fish and are a good choice of beginner aquarists.

Vanderbilt Chromis do well in pairs and larger groups as well if introduced at the same time. Vanderbilt Chromis should school together and add a nice dash of color and movement to your tank. Vanderbilt Chromis are outgoing fish and will even coax shy fish to come out more.

Vanderbilt Chromis are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality flake and pellet foods and high quality frozen foods will keep your Vanderbilt Chromis healthy and happy.
