The Cave Transparent Goby is a one of the most interesting and unique of all the gobies. Cave Transparent Gobies have a mostly transparent body and have some white and orange spots on their bodies as well.

Cave Transparent Gobies reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 10 gallons. Since Cave Transparent Gobies are such strong jumpers, it is recommended that you keep a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to fit through on the aquarium housing them, since they will jump out of the tank if spooked. Cave Transparent Gobies are peaceful fish and won't bother other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes the Cave Transparent Goby a great fish for reef tanks.

In smaller tanks, Cave Transparent Gobies can be aggressive towards each other and other gobies. Unless the Cave Transparent Gobies are a mated pair, multiples should only be kept in larger tanks. Cave Transparent Gobies shouldn't be kept with larger overly aggressive fish either, since they are not good at defending themselves. Cave Transparent Gobies will also need to be kept in tanks that have lots of live rock and sand in them. Cave Transparent Gobies will spend most of their days going through the rocks and sand looking for small inverts to eat between feedings.

Cave Transparent Gobies are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Cave Transparent Goby healthy and happy.

If you have any questions about the Cave Transparent Goby and if it's the right fish for your tank, please feel free to contact us at any time.
