The Crested Oyster Goby is a very interesting and unique goby. Crested Oyster Gobies have a mostly brown body with an orange belly and blue spots.

Crested Oyster Gobies reach a maximum adult size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 40 gallons. Crested Oyster Gobies are known jumpers and should only be kept in tanks with a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to jump through if spooked. Crested Oyster Gobies are semi-aggressive fish, but shouldn't bother too many other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes the Crested Oyster Goby a great fish to add to reef tanks.

Crested Oyster Gobies might be aggressive to other gobies in smaller tanks, but should be fine in larger tanks with each other. Crested Oyster Gobies will thrive in tanks with lots of live rock and substrate. Crested Oyster Gobies will spend most of their days going through the live rock eating algae and small inverts. Crested Oyster Gobies will also burrow in your substrate.

Crested Oyster Gobies are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods, nori or marine algae sheets as well as high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Crested Oyster Goby healthy and happy.

If you have any questions about the Crested Oyster Goby and if it's the right goby for your tank, please feel free to contact us at any time.
