The Two-Banded Soapfish is a very rare and beautiful soapfish. Two-Banded Soapfish have a mostly yellow body with two strong black vertical stripes.

Two-Banded Soapfish reach a maximum adult size of around 10 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 125 gallons in size. Two-Banded Soapfish are semi-aggressive fish and have jaws that are extremely large for their size. This enables them to eat smaller fish, so if you plan on keeping a Two-Banded Soapfish in a reef tank, please take this fact into consideration.

Two-Banded Soapfish are very rare fish to see in the aquarium trade, but they are one of the more common soapfish. Two-Banded Soapfish will benefit from a tank with lots of swimming room, as well as a tank with lots of hiding places. Having lots of live rock will provide small caves for Two-Banded Soapfish to take cover in if they feel threatened. Two-Banded Soapfish can also secret a toxic substance if they are harassed, meaning they shouldn't be kept with overly aggressive larger fish.

Two-Banded Soapfish are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods such as small chunks of fresh seafood like fish, clams, squid, shrimp and scallops as well as mysis and brine shrimp should keep your Two-Banded Soapfish happy and healthy.

Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions about the Two-Banded Soapfish and if it's the right fish for your tank.
