The Flame Hawkfish is a stunning blood red hawkfish that can be a perfect addition to your reef tank. Flame Hawkfish have a fully red body with black coloration along the top of their body and around their eyes.

Flame Hawkfish reach a full sized length of 4 inches, so they can be housed in an aquarium as small as 29 gallons. The Flame Hawkfish are normally peaceful fish, but can pick at smaller fish and shrimp. Since Flame Hawkfish will nip at smaller species, you must proceed with caution when adding a Flame Hawkfish to your reef.

The Flame Hawkfish spends most of its time at the bottom of the tank. Also having lots of rock in your tank will provide plenty of places for the Flame Hawkfish to perch on during the day.

Flame Hawkfish are carnivores need a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, frozen meaty foods and feeder shrimp should be offered to your Flame Hawkfish for it to stay healthy and thrive. If you can offer the right food and environment, a Flame Hawkfish can be a great addition to your tank.
