The Leaf Scorpionfish is a truly unique and interesting scorpionfish. Leaf Scorpionfish can be various colors to match their surroundings and will often change color after molting every two weeks.

Leaf Scorpionfish reach a maximum size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons. Leaf Scorpionfish are considered semi-aggressive and shouldn’t bother most fish, coral or inverts in your tank. Leaf Scorpionfish can be kept in reef tanks, but they might eat small fish and small inverts, so if you want to add a Leaf Scorpionfish to your reef tank, please proceed with caution. Also Leaf Scorpionfish should not be kept in tanks with overly aggressive tank mates either.

Leaf Scorpionfish need to be kept in tanks with lots of live rock as well. Leaf Scorpionfish will spend their days perched on the rock work awaiting their next meal.

Leaf Scorpionfish are carnivores and require a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp as well as small pieces of fresh seafood should keep your Leaf Scorpionfish healthy and happy. Sometimes Leaf Scorpionfish have a hard time eating when getting used to life in an aquarium. To overcome this, you can use live feeder shrimp to get them to eat.

Please contact us at any time if you have any questions about the Leaf Scorpionfish and if it’s the right fish for your tank.
