  • The Tiger Tail Seahorse is a very elegant and beautiful seahorse. Tiger Tail Seahorses yellow when female and more tan in color if male. They both have darker brown markings and stripes on them.

    Tiger Tail Seahorses grow to a fully adult size of around 7 inches and need to be kept in a tank that is at least 29 gallons. Tiger Tail Seahorses are very delicate creatures and need to be kept with other very peaceful and delicate fish. Fish such as pipefish and other seahorses are good tank mates for Tiger Tail Seahorses.

    Like all seahorses, Tiger Tail Seahorses need various pieces of coral and braches of live rock or plants to attach themselves too. Flow also needs to be very low in tanks containing Tiger Tail Seahorses, since they are not the best swimmers. Tiger Tail Seahorses are also not very aggressive eaters, so you must keep them with tank mates that will not eat their food before they have a chance.

    Tiger Tail Seahorses are carnivores and need a diet rich in meaty foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp are great for Tiger Tail Seahorses and will help them thrive in your tank. Multiple feedings a day will also insure that Tiger Tail Seahorses stay nice and healthy.
