Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse are very colorful and active wrasses. Whip Fin Fairy Wrasses have a mostly bright red body with yellow fins with their dorsal fin being elongated. Whip Fin Fairy Wrasses also have a blue tail. Male Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse tend to be a lot brighter as well.

Whip Fin Fairy Wrasses reach a maximum size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons in size. Whip Fin Fairy Wrasses are generally peaceful fish and shouldn't bother other fish, coral on inverts in your tank. This makes them a good fish to add to reef tanks.

Whip Fin Fairy Wrasses can be aggressive towards other fairy wrasses in smaller tanks. For this reason it's good to either add them as the last fairy wrasse in the tank or in larger tanks. Whip Fin Fairy Wrasses are strong jumpers and need to be kept in tanks with tight fitting lids with no holes large enough for them to jump through if spooked. Whip Fin Fairy Wrasses do very well in tanks that have lots of live rock for them to pick at small inverts off of and also to hide in.

Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse healthy and happy.
