  • Description
  • The Trochus Snail is a very useful and huge snail. Trochus Snails have a conical shaped dark brown to black shell that grows with them.

Trochus Snails reach a maximum adult size of 6 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons when mature. Trochus Snail are peaceful snails and shouldn't bother any other inverts, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes the Trochus Snail a great addition to reef tanks. Since the Trochus Snail can get rather large, it will have the ability to knock over rocks and corals.

Trochus Snail will spend most of their days going through the tank eating algae off your rock work. Trochus Snails are incredible algae eaters and will even eat some nuisance algaes like hair algae. This makes the Trochus Snail a great addition to your tank's clean up crew.

Trochus Snails are herbivores and will spend most of their time eating any algae it can find. If you would like to supplement the diet of your Trochus Snail, you could use great foods like nori or marine algae sheets, high qaulity frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods.
