  • Description
  • The Blueberry Gorgonian is a stunning and very unique sea fan. Blueberry Gorgonians grow in an upward branching manner from a central base. Blueberry Gorgonians have a red skeleton with blue polyps.

Blueberry Gorgonians should be placed in the middle to top of the tank and require low to moderate lighting and high water flow. Once you have placed your Blueberry Gorgonian, watch for any signs of stress. If stress is seen, simply move your Blueberry Gorgonian slightly until you see that it is improving.

Blueberry Gorgonians need to have algae kept off of them or they will suffer in health. Blueberry Gorgonians are peaceful corals and shouldn't bother other coral neighbors. Blueberry Gorgonians can grow fairly fast and also get pretty large, so you need to provide enough room for the Blueberry Gorgonian to grow when placing it.

Blueberry Gorgonians are carnivore and do not get any nutrients from photosynthesis. This means that the Blueberry Gorgonian needs to be fed. Blueberry Gorgonians will get some of their needed nutrition from the water column, but you should feed them as well. Foods like micro-plankton and mysis and baby-brine shrimp will keep your Blueberry Gorgonian healthy and happy. Blueberry Gorgonians are not easy to care for, and should only be kept by the most expert of aquarists.
