  • Gorgonians, or Sea Fans, are extremely interesting and unique coral that you can add to your reef tank. Gorgonians come in a wide variety of colors and shapes, and can get rather large.

    Since Gorgonians can grow to very large sizes, it is important that you provide adequate space between Gorgonians and other corals that might harm them. Gorgonians can be relatively hard to keep, since they are not photosynthetic and require to be feed by filter food like baby brine shrimp or Marine Snow.

    Most Gorgonians require moderate lighting and medium to high flow rates. Also Gorgonians do poorly if they get covered by algaes found in marine tanks. Care should be taken to remove any algae build up found on Gorgonians as soon as it is noticed.
