The Frilly Mushroom is a very colorful and elegant mushroom coral. Frilly Mushrooms will grow in an outward encrusting manner and overtime will cover your rockwork. Frilly Mushrooms are mostly found in green, purple and blue hues. Please make sure when adding a Frilly Mushroom to your cart, that you add the color that you desire.

Frilly Mushrooms should be placed at the bottom of your Frilly Mushroom on the substrate or lower rocks. Frilly Mushrooms require moderate to high lighting and moderate water flow. After you have placed your Frilly Mushroom, watch for any signs of stress. If any signs of stress are seen, simply move your Frilly Mushroom a few inches and see if it improves.

Frilly Mushrooms are semi-aggressive corals and can sting their nearby coral neighbors. For this reason please make sure you give plenty of room for your Frilly Mushroom to grow and not get too close to other corals. Most of the stings by the Frilly Mushroom are not too bad, but can cause other corals to retract.

Frilly Mushrooms get most of their nutrition through the water column and photosynthesis, but you can also supplement their diet with meaty foods. Foods like mysis and baby-brine shrimp as well as high quality meaty frozen foods and plankton can be fed to your tank in the evening hours.

If you have any questions about the Frilly Mushroom and if it's the right coral for your tank, please contact us at any time.
