  • Description
  • The Ricordea Mushroom is one of the most sought after and colorful of all the mushroom corals. Ricordea Mushrooms grow in an encrusting manner and have an interesting bubble like texture to them. Ricordea Mushrooms come in extremely bright colors from red to purple. Since Ricordea Mushrooms come in so many colors, make sure you select your desired color when adding them to your cart.

Ricordea Mushrooms can be placed anywhere in the tank and like moderate light and low water flow. When you place your Ricordea Mushroom in your tank, watch for signs of stress after the first or second day. If you see that your Ricordea Mushroom looks retracted, try moving it slightly until it looks happier. Normally Ricordea Mushroom tend to like being covered partially by rock or other coral.

Ricordea Mushrooms are semi-aggressive corals and might aggravate their close by coral neighbors. Although Ricordea Mushrooms normally will not kill corals, they can hinder other corals growth and extension. Ricordea Mushrooms will also grow and spread, so this must be taken into account when placing your Ricordea Mushroom.

Ricordea Mushrooms get most of their nutrition from photosynthesis and the water column. If you would like to supplement their diet, you can add meaty foods like mysis and brine shrimp or micro-plankton to the tank in the evening hours.
