  • Description
  • The Button Polyps is a stunning and very colorful polyp coral. Button Polyps come in a huge variety of colors including, red, greens and yellows. Button Polyps grow as single polyps attached to rocks. Button Polyps will soon spread from a few polyps to cover some of your rock work.

Button Polyps should be placed in the middle of your tank and tend to like both moderate water flow and lighting. The best way to place a Button Polyp is to find the desired location you want it placed, then after placing it watch it for a few days. If after a few days you see good extension the spot should be fine, if the coral looks aggravated, simply move it slightly until you see a happy coral.

Button Polyps are semi-aggressive corals and can sting some close coral neighbors. The stings are normally not very strong, but can still aggravate other corals. You need to take this into consideration when placing a Button Polyp.

Button Polyps get most of their nutrition through photosynthesis and shouldn't need much additional food. If you would like to add some food to your Button Polyps diet, try to feed it small meaty foods like mysis and brine shrimp along with micro-plankton in the evening hours.
