  • The Bluefin Angelfish is a unique and dark blue and black dwarf angelfish. Bluefin Angelfish can be a great addition to smaller fish only tanks and reef tanks if you proceed with caution.

    Bluefin Angelfish reach a maximum size of 5 inches and shouldn’t be kept in an aquarium any smaller than 55 gallons. The Bluefin Angelfish can be aggressive to other similar species of dwarf angels and should only be kept in multiples in larger tanks.

    Bluefin Angelfish are generally not considered reef safe, since they are known to pick at hard and soft corals as well as some inverts like clams. Many people have had good luck adding Bluefin Angelfish to their reef tanks, but it really comes down to the personality of the individual fish.

    Bluefin Angelfish have a dark golden center area with black vertical strips and their fins are black with blue highlights. Being omnivores, Bluefin Angelfish require a diet rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, spirulina and high quality pellet and flake foods should be offered to your Bluefin Angelfish for it to grow and flourish.
