  • The Bluespotted Angelfish is a colorful and interesting smaller angelfish. Bluespotted Angelfish have a mostly deep blue body with a bright yellow tail.

    Bluespotted Angelfish can reach a maximum adult size of around 6 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons in size. Bluespotted Angelfish are semi-aggressive fish and should be kept with other fish that can hold their own. Smaller fish might get harassed by a Bluespotted Angelfish. Bluespotted Angelfish can be added to reef tanks, but might nip at some hard corals and clams. So if you add a Bluespotted Angelfish to your reef tank, please proceed with caustion.

    Bluespotted Angelfish generally do the best when they are kept in FOWLR tanks with other semi-aggressive tankmates. Also having lots of live rock for the Bluespotted Angelfish to hide in if they feel threatened is extremely important.

    Bluespotted Angelfish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods such as spirulina, nori, marine algae, high quality frozen foods, high quality pellet and flake foods as well as mysis and brine shrimp will help your Bluespotted Angelfish grow and thrive.
