  • Description
  • The Narcosis Angelfish is a stunning and unbelievable rare pygmy angel. The Narcosis Angelfish is found off of the Cook Islands are very deep depths. Narcosis Angelfish have a mostly yellow body with a large strong black spot. Due to its rarity and the depths that they are found, the Narcosis Angelfish is one of the most expensive off all fish found in home aquariums.

Narcosis Angelfish reach a maximum adult size of just under 3 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons in size. Narcosis Angelfish are semi-aggressive fish and shouldn't bother too many other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. Like other pygmy angels, the Narcosis Angelfish will nip at some hard and soft corals on occasion. For this reason, only add a Narcosis Angelfish to your reef tank under caution.

Since Narcosis Angelfish are such deep water fish, you must make sure that your tank is running cooler than typical reef tanks run. Also there must be sufficient rock work with caves that the Narcosis Angelfish can take shelter from the harsh lighting found in our tanks. Given the extremely rarity of the Narcosis Angelfish, only the most expert of aquarists should even think about attempting to keep one.

Narcosis Angelfish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, live feeder shrimp, high quality frozen foods, spirulina and high quality flake and pellet foods should help your Narcosis Angelfish stay healthy and thrive.
