  • Description
  • The Lori's Anthias is a stunning and newly discovered species of anthias. Lori's Anthias have a mostly orange body with strong red markings. Male Lori's Anthias will tend to show stronger coloration as well.

Lori's Anthias reach a maximum adult size of around 5 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 75 gallons in size. Lori's Anthias are semi-aggressive fish and shouldn't bother many other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. Lori's Anthias will sometimes be aggressive towards other anthias in smaller tanks. Lori's Anthias are good fish to add to most reef systems as well.

Multiple male Lori's Anthias cannot be kept in the same tank as well for fears of aggression. Lori's Anthias do best with in small schooling groups of either all females or one male with multiple females. With the lack of a male in the tank, the dominant female Lori's Anthias will turn into a male. Lori's Anthias really need to be kept in tanks with lots of live rock in. Lori's Anthias are somewhat shy fish and should have areas where they can hide if they feel threatened.

Lori's Anthias are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Lori's Anthias healthy and happy. Lori's Anthias will also benefit from multiple small meals a day over one large meal, since they are such active fish.
