  • Description
  • The Pink Anthias is a very colorful and active reef fish. Pink Anthias have a mostly pinkish body with white bellies and orange on their dorsal fin. Male Pink Anthias have stronger coloration and also have a strong mark behind their eyes.

Pink Anthias reach a maximum adult size of around 7 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 125 gallons. Pink Anthias are semi-aggressive fish and shouldn't bother other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes the Pink Anthias a great addition to reef tanks. Male Pink Anthias can be aggressive towards other males, so it's best to keep multiples in an all female group or one male with several females. The dominant female Pink Anthias will change sex to male if there is no male in the group.

Pink Anthias are normally found at deeper depths, so they should be offered plenty of live rock to hide in and tank shelter from the strong lights found in reef tank. Pink Anthias will spend most of their day out in the tank and will generally stay in the middle to upper portions of the tank.

Pink Anthias are carnivores and require a diet that is high in meaty content. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp and high quality meaty frozen foods will keep your Pink Anthias healthy and happy. Make sure to feed them small meals multiple times a day, since they are so active one large meal will just not be enough to keep them going.
