  • Description
  • The Princess Anthias is a very stunning and colorful anthias. Princess Anthias have a mostly light pink body with orange highlights and beautiful golden flecks along their body.

Princess Anthias reach a maximum adult size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons in size. Princess Anthias are very peaceful fish and will get along with most fish, coral and inverts in your thank. For this reason, Princess Anthias are a great fish to add to reef tanks. Princess Anthias are best kept in groups of all females, or one male with multiple females. Male Princess Anthias can be very aggressive towards other males.

Since Princess Anthias are found at such deep depths, they can be hard fish to get used to aquarium life. Princess Anthias do best when kept in tanks with cooler water. When housing a Princess Anthias, it is best to try to provide them with lots of hiding places and also shelter from the harsh lighting found in our reef tanks. If these conditions are not met, Princess Anthias can become stressed and sick.

Princess Anthias are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality flake and pellet foods and high quality meaty frozen foods will keep your Princess Anthias healthy and happy. Princess Anthias will do benefit from having a refugium or established live rock in the tank that will provide them with pods to eat between feedings. Since Princess Anthias are so active, they do best when fed small meals throughout the day. Once large meal doesn't really do much to keep your Princess Anthias healthy.

Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions about the Princess Anthias and if it's the right fish for your tank.
