The Swiss Guard Basslet is a very prized after and rare basslet. Swiss Guard Basslets have a mostly red body with strong white horizontal stripes.

Swiss Guard Basslets reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and should be kept in tanks that are at least 20 gallons. Swiss Guard Basslets are semi-aggressive fish and might be territorial and aggressive to smaller fish and other basslets. Swiss Guard Basslets might also eat some smaller inverts. With this in mind, you should proceed with caution when adding a Swiss Guard Basslet to your reef tank.

Swiss Guard Basslets are mostly found in deeper waters, so the harsh lights found in our tanks, especially reef tanks, can be fairly annoying to them. For this reason, it is best to provide a tank that had lots of live rock and areas for your Swiss Guard Basslet to take shelter from the intense lights.

Swiss Guard Basslets are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, small pieces of fresh seafood and high quality meaty frozen foods should keep your Swiss Guard Basslet healthy and happy.

Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions about the Swiss Guard Basslet and if it's the right fish for your system.
