  • Description
  • The Striped Blenny is a very colorful and active blenny. Striped Blennies have a mostly white body with strong horizontal black stripes. The head of the Striped Blenny has a yellow hue and the back half of their body can have blue hues.

    Striped Blennies reach a maximum adult size of around 5 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons. Striped Blennies are semi-aggressive fish and shouldn't bother too many other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes the Striped Blenny a great fish to add to reef tanks.

    Striped Blennies have a strong bite that is venomous, which is meant to fend off larger more aggressive fish. The bite of a Striped Blenny is painful, but shouldn't be life threatening. If you are highly allergic, you should seek medical attention if bitten by a Striped Blenny. Striped Blennies will do best when houses in tanks with lots of hiding places as well.

    Striped Blennies are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality pellet and flake foods will keep your Striped Blenny healthy and happy.
