  • The Sunburst Butterflyfish is a very colorful and beautiful butterflyfish. Sunburst Butterflyfish have a mostly yellow body with very strong vertical bands of white and black.

    Sunburst Butterflyfish reach a maximum adult size of around 6 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons in size. Sunburst Butterflyfish are peaceful fish and will get along with most other fish and inverts in your tank. Sunburst Butterflyfish have been known to bother some of the more fleshy species of coral though, so you most proceed with caution if you want to add a Sunburst Butterflyfish to your reef tank.

    Sunburst Butterflyfish are very hardy fish and are a pretty good choice for a beginner aquarist with a larger tank. Once a Sunburst Butterflyfish is acclimated to life in an aquarium, in should thrive in the right sized tank without too much attention.

    Sunburst Butterflyfish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality pellet and flake foods will help your Sunburst Butterflyfish grow and thrive.
