  • Chromis are a great choice of fish for a reef or fish only tank. Chromis tend to stay rather small, under 6 inches, and come in a host of vibrant colors.

    Chromis do extremely well in large schools as well. Depending on the size of your aquarium, you can have a group of 3 to dozens of Chromis together. Chromis should get along well with each other, but there have been reports of Chromis killing each other in large groups until just a few are left.

    Chromis vary in color from white and silver to blue and purples and even some are orange and red. You should not keep Chromis with overly aggressive or large fish, since Chromis are not great at defending themselves and will be picked off by larger fish eating fish.
