  • The Akindynos Clownfish is a larger and more aggressive clownfish. It is found in the Western Pacific Ocean, mostly in Australia.

    The Akindynos Clownfish grows to a fully grown adult size of 4 inches, and can be kept in tanks as small as 29 gallons. Akindynos Clownfish do best when they have an anemone to host in and feel secure from larger fish. The Akindynos Clownfish can be aggressive and will do well in both reef and FOWLR tanks with larger aggressive fish.

    The Akindynos Clownfish has an orange body with two thin white vertical stripes. When the Akindynos Clownfish is a juvenile, it will sometimes have a third stripe that disappears with age. There are no difference in coloration between males and females. Sex of the Akindynos Clownfish can change over time, with the absence of a dominant female, the dominate male may turn female.

    The Akindynos Clownfish is very aggressive when it comes to eating, and will eat both meaty and green foods. Akindynos Clownfish do best when they are offered foods such as mysis and brine shrimp, pellets and flake foods.
