  • The Brown Saddle Back Clownfish is a very unique and interesting clownfish. Brown Saddle Back Clownfish have a mostly dark tan body with two strong white vertical stripes. The rear stripe resembles a saddle, hence their name.

    Brown Saddle Back Clownfish reach a fully grown adult size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons in size. Brown Saddle Back Clownfish are semi-aggressive fish and might be aggressive towards other clownfish or damsels. Brown Saddle Back Clownfish are peaceful to other fish, coral and inverts making them a good choice for reef tanks.

    Brown Saddle Back Clownfish aren't able to defend themselves too well, so they try to take refuge in anemones. The Brown Saddle Back Clownfish is immune to the sting of the anemone, but larger predatory fish are and will leave the clownfish alone while it's in its anemone.

    Brown Saddle Back Clownfish are aggressive eaters and are not picky either. Brown Saddle Back Clownfish are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both green and meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Brown Saddle Back Clownfish healthy and happy.
