  • Description
  • The Red Saddleback Clownfish is a very bright and colorful clownfish. Red Saddleback Clownfish have a mostly reddish orange body with a large black spot on each side of their body.

Red Saddleback Clownfish reach a maximum adult size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons. Red Saddleback Clownfish are semi-aggressive fish and shouldn't bother most coral, inverts and fish in your tank. This makes them a great choice for reef tanks. Red Saddleback Clownfish might be aggressive to other clownfish in smaller tanks though.

Red Saddleback Clownfish are best kept in a mate pair, but will do fine singularly as well. Red Saddleback Clowns will often look for a hosting anemone as well. The Red Saddleback Clownfish has a thick slime coat and isn't bothered by the sting of the anemone. Larger predatory fish get stung by the anemone and leave the Red Saddleback Clownfish alone.

Red Saddleback Clownfish are omnivores and also very aggressive eaters. The diet for a Red Saddleback Clownfish needs to contain both green and meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods will keep your Red Saddleback Clownfish healthy and happy.
