The Flame Damsel is a very colorful and active little damselfish. Flame Damsels have a mostly yellow body that fades to orange as you get closer to their dorsal fin. Flame Damsel also have blue markings on their face and fins. The Flame Damsel has a black spot on the back of their dorsal fin as well.

Flame Damsels reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons in size. Flame Damsels are semi-aggressive fish and shouldn't bother most fish, corals or inverts in your tank. This makes the Flame Damsel a great fish to add to reef tanks. Flame Damsels are also very hardy fish, which makes them a good fish for beginner aquarists.

Flame Damsels can be aggressive to other damsels and clownfish in smaller tanks and might become territorial to new fish additions, so please keep this in mind when adding a Flame Damsel to your tank. Flame Damsels are very active and out and about in the tank often, adding great color and movement to most tanks.

Flame Damsels are omnivores and require a diet that is rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet food will keep your Flame Damsel healthy and happy.
