  • The Yellowbelly Blue Damsel is a stunning and super colorful damselfish. Yellowbelly Blue Damsels have the upper front half of their body completely covered in electric blue and their lower back half is yellow.

    Yellowbelly Blue Damsels reach a maximum adult size of around 2 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons. Yellowbelly Blue Damsels are semi-aggressive and shouldn't bother most fish, coral and inverts. For this reason, Yellowbelly Blue Damsels are a great fish to add to reef tanks.

    Yellowbelly Blue Damsels are also very hardy fish, which make them a great fish for a beginner aquarist. Yellowbelly Blue Damsels can be aggressive towards other damsels and similar sized fish. For this reason, it's suggested that you introduce a Yellowbelly Blue Damsel to the tank later in the stocking list or keep them in a larger tank. Most of the aggression is over territory.

    Yellowbelly Blue Damsels are omnivores and need a diet rich in both meaty and green foods. Foods like brine and mysis shrimp, high quality flake and pellet foods and high quality frozen foods will keep your Yellowbelly Blue Damsel healthy and happy.
