  • The Helfrichi Firefish is a stunning and very rare firefish. Helfrichi Firefish have a mostly pinkish purple body with a yellow head.

    Helfrichi Firefish reach a maximum size of around 2 inches and can be kept in tanks as small as 20 gallons. Helfrichi Firefish also need to be kept in a tank that has a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to jump through if spooked. Helfrichi Firefish are peaceful fish and shouldn’t bother other fish, coral or inverts if your tank. This makes them the perfect fish for reef tanks. Helfrichi Firefish should not be kept with overly aggressive larger fish, since they can’t defend themselves very well. Helfrichi Firefish will also be aggressive to other firefish in smaller tanks.

    Helfrichi Firefish do best in tanks with lots of substrate and live rock in them. Helfrichi Firefish will dart into the rock work if they feel threatened and will also pick at food off of the substrate.

    Helfrichi Firefish are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods such as mysis and brine shrimp and high quality flake foods will keep your Helfrichi Firefish happy and healthy.
