  • The Purple Stripe Dottyback is a super colorful and active fish. Purple Stripe Dottybacks have a mostly yellow body with a strong purple marking above its head.

    Purple Stripe Dottybacks reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons. Purple Stripe Dottybacks are aggressive fish and will not get along with smaller fish or other Dottybacks. They will not bother larger more aggressive fish or coral. They will however eat some inverts like shrimp. For this reason Purple Stripe Dottybacks normally do well in reef tanks, but you must take all these facts into account when adding a Purple Stripe Dottyback to your tank.

    Purple Stripe Dottybacks will do best when placed in tanks with lots of hiding places. Hiding places are best made out of just have lots of live rock in the tank. Not only will Purple Stripe Dottybacks have hiding places, but they will also pick small inverts off of the rock.

    Purple Stripe Dottybacks are carnivores and need a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality flake and frozen foods will keep your Purple Stripe Dottyback healthy and happy.
