  • The Red Elongated Dottyback is a very rare and sought after dottyback. Red Elongated Dottybacks have a mostly reddish orange body with a yellow mark on their tail.

    Red Elongated Dottyback reaches a maximum adult size of around 2 inches and needs to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons in size. Red Elongated Dottybacks are shy fish and might try to jump out of the aquarium when first introduced. For this reason they should be kept in tanks with a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to jump through if spooked.

    Red Elongated Dottybacks are mostly peaceful fish, but can be territorial in smaller tanks. Otherwise they will not bother other fish, coral or inverts making them a great choice for reef tanks. Red Elongated Dottybacks will do best when kept in tanks with lots of live rock to hide in and pick small inverts off of between feedings.

    Red Elongated Dottybacks are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp as well as high quality frozen meaty foods will keep your Red Elongated Dottyback healthy and happy.
