  • The Golden Dwarf Moray Eel is one of the most popular and sought after of all the moray eels for home aquariums. Golden Dwarf Moray Eels have a long and slender body that is a golden yellow. Golden Dwarf Moray Eels also have very distinct blue cat eyes.

    Golden Dwarf Moray Eels reach a maximum adult size of around 12 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons in size. Golden Dwarf Moray Eels are incredible escape artists and need to be kept in tanks that have a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to escape through. Golden Dwarf Moray Eels are semi-aggressive fish and won't bother most coral, inverts or fish. Any small fish or invert that gets too close to a Golden Dwarf Moray Eel could be a meal though. For this reason you must proceed with caution if adding a Golden Dwarf Moray Eel to your reef tank.

    Golden Dwarf Moray Eels need to be kept in tanks with lots of live rock for them to hide in. With the lack of hiding places, a Golden Dwarf Moray Eel will become stressed and possibly ill. Golden Dwarf Moray Eels are also kept well in pairs.

    Golden Dwarf Moray Eels are carnivores and require a diet that is very rich in meaty foods. Foods like small pieces of fresh seafood like clams, squid, shrimp and fish should be offered to your Golden Dwarf Moray Eel on feeding tongs. Doing this will ensure that your Golden Dwarf Moray Eel stays healthy and happy. Golden Dwarf Moray Eels can go on long hunger strikes, which shouldn't be too much of a concern.
