  • Description
  • The Manybar Goatfish is a stunning and very colorful goatfish. Manybar Goatfish have a mostly red body with black spots on its rear and a white belly. Manybar Goatfish have long barbels that come off their mouths that they use to search the sand for inverts to eat.

Manybar Goatfish reach a maximum adult size of around 14 and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 240 gallons. Manybar Goatfish are peaceful fish that shouldn't bother other fish or coral in your tank. Manybar Goatfish can eat smaller inverts, so please proceed with caution if you want to add one to your reef tank.

Manybar Goatfish will do the best when kept in larger tanks with a thick sand bed for them to search for inverts in. Manybar Goatfish will also keep your sand clean and oxygenated by sifting through it all day long. Manybar Goatfish will benefit from having lots of live rock in your tank as well, they are peaceful fish and will need to hide every now and then from more aggressive fish.

Manybar Goatfish are carnivores and need to be fed a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp as well as high quality meaty frozen foods will keep your Manybar Goatfish healthy and happy as a juvenile. As your Manybar Goatfish gets larger, it will need a diet of larger pieces of fresh seafood.
