  • The Citron Clown Goby is a great way to add a bit of color to your coral reef. Citron Clown Gobies are small yellow fish that do very well in reef tanks.

    Citron Clown Gobies reach a maximum adult size of around 2 inches, and can be kept in tanks as small as ten gallons. Tight fitting tank covers with no holes small enough for the Citron Clown Goby to jump though are a must. If the Citron Clown Goby feels threatened, it will try to jump out of your tank. Also adding lots of rock for the Citron Clown Goby to hide in if threatened if a great idea. The Citron Clown Goby has a fully yellow body with very skinny electric blue vertical stripes around its eye.

    The Citron Clown Goby are considered to be reef safe. For the most part they do not pick at corals, inverts or bother other fish. Citron Clown Gobies will be aggressive towards other similar goby species in smaller tanks though. If your tank is SPS dominant, it might be risky to add Citron Clown Gobies to your tank though. Citron Clown Gobies have been known to pick at some SPS and also like to spend the data in their branches.

    Citron Clown Gobies are carnivores and need a diet very rich in meaty foods. Food such as mysis and brine shrimp, frozen meaty foods and flakes with meaty content should be offered to your Citron Clown Goby for it to stay healthy and thrive.
