  • Description
  • The Red Head Goby is a very colorful and interesting smaller fish. Red Head Gobies have a mostly white body with black spots and a brilliant red head.

Red Head Gobies reach a maximum adult size of around 2 inches and can be kept in tanks as small as 10 gallons. Red Head Gobies are mostly peaceful fish, but can be aggressive to other gobies in smaller tanks. Red Head Gobies can also be rather territorial in smaller tanks as well.

Red Head Gobies make good fish to add to reef tanks as well, since they will not bother other fish, coral or inverts in the tank. Red Head Gobies should not be kept with larger overly aggressive fish either. Red Head Gobies do best when placed in a tank with lots of live rock and coarser substrates. They will spend their days picking at the sand and rock for tiny inverts to eat.

Red Head Gobies are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, meaty frozen foods and tiny pieces of fresh seafood will keep your Red Head Goby happy and healthy.
