  • Description
  • The Miniatus Grouper is a stunning orangish-red grouper with electric blue spots all over its body. The Miniatus Grouper is a stunning addition to any tank with larger fish.

Miniatus Groupers reach a fully grown size of around 14 inches, although in aquariums they hardly break 12 inches. Miniatus Groupers shouldn’t be kept in tanks smaller than 220 gallons. The Miniatus Grouper is an aggressive fish and will try to eat any fish and invert that it can fit into its mouth. Miniatus Groupers will get along with other larger fish though. Since Miniatus Groupers eat small fish and inverts, it’s with caution if you want to add one to a reef tank.

The Miniatus Grouper is a carnivore and needs a diet very rich in meaty foods. Food such as krill, feeder fish, fresh seafood and squid are great for a Miniatus Groupers diet.

If you have a tank larger enough to hold a Miniatus Grouper that isn’t stocked with smaller fish, the Miniatus Grouper could make a stunning addition to your tank.
