Lookdowns are very interesting fish that tend to stay towards the top of a tank and can provide some interesting movement at the top of your tank.

Lookdowns can reach a maximum size of 19 inches and should be kept in tanks that are at least 300 gallons in size. Lookdowns have stunning silver scales and are extremely reflective. Lookdowns do like to stay towards the top of the aquarium unlike a lot of other fish, and add some movement to the top of your tank.

Lookdowns are peaceful fish and for the most part will not bother anything but the smallest fish and inverts. Lookdowns should not be kept with overly aggressive fish either. They will often be chased and cannot defend themselves against aggressive fish. Lookdowns will also school when kept in numbers.

Lookdowns are carnivores and require a diet of meaty foods. Food such as mysis and brine shrimp, high quality frozen and fresh seafood should be offered to your Lookdowns. Live food might also be required to get Lookdowns to start eating in an aquarium.
