  • Foxface Rabbitfish are amazing and great additions to both reef and fish only tanks. Foxface Rabbitfish are a stunning yellow color with a black mask over their white head. When stressed, the Foxface Rabbitfish will also change colors.

    Foxface Rabbitfish grow to an adult size of around 9 inches and need to be housed in a tank that is at least 125 gallons. They are normally very peaceful fish and will leave most other tank mates alone. The only time Foxface Rabbitfish should be aggressive are when there are other Rabbitfish present in the tank, when disputes can happen over territory and food. Other fish will leave the Foxface Rabbitfish alone because of their venomous spines. Also you must take care to avoid being stung by a Foxface Rabbitfish when handling or being around them.

    Foxface Rabbitfish are considered reef safe and should leave your corals and inverts alone. If the Foxface Rabbitfish doesn’t have the correct diet, they might nip at LPS and soft corals. Foxface Rabbitfish are herbivores and need a diet rich in green foods. Foods such as Nori, Red Algae, Spirulina, high quality flake foods and mysis shrimp are great to feed Foxface Rabbitfish.

    Foxface Rabbitfish are also great eaters of nuisance algae. Adding a Foxface Rabbitfish to your reef or fish only tank can be one of the best and most rewarding fish you could possibly add to your tank.
